House Wife’s Beatrix Potter “Trixie”

This pretty little mare looks so much like her tiny maternal granddam, Hunt House Farm’s Kismet, which I bought in Florida at the Hunt House Farm dispersal. She had her son, Traveller, four hours after making the trip from Florida to Texas. That son was the sire of this mare. We are looking forward to her joining our broodmare band.

Little America’s Tex Housewife

We sold Housewife as a weanling filly when she was solid black with no signs of coloring. After being an excellent broodmare with three fillies and one colt, I saw a picture of her and asked if she was for sale. At the time she wasn’t, but I asked to be notified if she ever was. Meanwhile, I was amazed at the color change that had taken place over the years. I was also very pleased at the conformation and coloration that she produced: one pinto, which I also bought, two pintaloosas and one appaloosa. I am looking forward to seeing what she produces for us.
