We have this gorgeous colt due to my daughter Lauren. We saw him at a show in Waco, TX, in 2014, where she showed him as a catch handler in the championship class. I was showing beside him and could hardly take my eyes off of him. We asked our friend, Polly Weisberg, who owned him about him and for several days I kept thinking about him, but finally decided that I had too many horses and couldn’t really afford another, so gave up on him. A few weeks later Lauren surprised me with his papers for a Father’s Day gift. What indescribable joy and surprise. Lauren chose to keep him with Mike Rosauer, who was campaigning him and we all showed him at the AMHA Regional Championship show where he was Champion Yearling Stallion 28″ and Under, Amateur Junior Stallion Level 1 and Reserve Amateur Junior Stallion Level 2. He has certainly proven to be an excellent investment. Two World Championships in 2014 and On World Championship in 2015.

We bought Secret in 2012 to show in driving and add to our breeding program. Since the first time I saw his sire in the ring at the World Show in 2007, I became a huge fan. I made a point to find the owner and to our delight realized that they were customers of ours, Don and Mary Lou Knaap, who had bought some of mares at the World Sale. His sire who currently has sixteen World Championships, two Reserve World Championships, and FOUR World Grand Championships in Single Pleasure Driving holds a record which is unmatched, I believe, in AMHA history.

miniature driving horseminiature horse world champion

We took two mares to breed to Phantom Storm in 2012 and while they were there Secret Storm became available and we took advantage of putting more of the excellent driving bloodline into our breeding program. We picked him up at the AMHA Eastern Championship show where Lauren showed him, winning one Country Pleasure Class and reserve in three others. Then we showed him at the World Show where he placed Top Ten in two classes. We also got to cheer his sire as he won his FIFTH World Grand Championship in Single Pleasure Driving and High Point Driving Horse. I think his name should be Phenomenal Phantom Storm!!!

Progeny

Show Record

Secret was Reserve World Champion Fine Harness Driving at the 2013 AMHA World Show, second to his sire (who won his 32nd World title)!

Pedigree

His pedigree is excellent going back to Del’s Cowboy, NFC’s Fire & Ice, and Ger Mel’s Ruth (who has six World titles herself) on the top side. On the bottom side he goes back to Orion-Light Van’t Huttenest and Boones Little Buckeroo. If pedigree means anything, he should be a power house in the breeding arena.

This stallion is a look-alike son of one of my favorite little stallions that was part of the breeding program of Wade Burn’s and Jon Woodring’s Lucky Four for a number of years. I didn’t think that I needed another stallion, but when this guy surfaced at a sale that I was working, I decided that I would just have to make a place for him. His foals have been gorgeous, mostly palomino and we have one of his first sons, Overo is proving to be a tremendous asset in our breeding program!

When we were looking for an outcross for breeding, this flashy colt took our eye and we are pleased with his wonderful neck, look at me attitude, conformation and outstanding pedigree! He boasts the likes of National Grand Champions Lazy N Boogerman, Hemlock Brook Egyptian King, Yellow Diamonds Moonlight, and National and Reserve Champions Flying W Little Blue Boy and NFC Egyptian King Top Account. In addition, Rowdy and Boone’s Little Andy play a large part in his look! You can’t make up a pedigree like this one!

We purchased this flashy stallion at the Melton’s Dispersal in Ft. Wayne, IN, and are extremely pleased with his first foals. Here are a few of them:

Tiny, correct, colorful, and about as perfect as they come! If you want little, and WE DO, “Chihuahua” as he is called, has made a great addition to our stallion roster!!! He was Amateur Grand Champion at the Biggest Little Horse Show in Texas in May 2005 and was in our show string in 2006. His foals are proving to be outstanding, refined, colorful and tiny.

Wow! Color, conformation, refinement, pedigree! Who could ask for anything more? Sire is by one of the most beautiful headed appaloosas, Lazy H Desert Storm. On the dam’s side such outstanding individuals as leopard World Champion Little America’s Kickapoo Joy Boy, JTR Indian Warrior, Little America’s Sesquicentennial Tex, Orion-Light Van’t Huttenest and Xenon-Light Van’t Huttenest. A whole hit parade of color. And the most exciting part is that he should be passing on appaloosa coloring to every foal that he produces when he is bred. He is a snowcap appaloosa which is believed to be homozygous for app coloring! In other words, he may be a COLOR MACHINE. Gee, that would have been a great name!

We are giving him a chance to prove his mettle, breeding him to several mares in 2019.  We hopefully will add him permanently to our breeding program if things turn out like we expect.

We were hoping for a tiny overo and that is exactly what we got, well, not really tiny, but really beautiful and colorful. . With his pedigree boasting of such outstanding horses as Sid’s Dominator, Wittmack’s Little Skipper, he is making an excellent addition to our breeding program. One of his daughters, Little America’s Overo’s Miss Texas, was Top Ten at the AMHA 2012 World Show.

He unfortunately had to be put down after a severe case of enteritis.

This stallion is a dream come true. We lost his sire, who was Reserve World Champion Amateur Stallion in 2002, to a pack of wild dogs in February, 2006, with only a limited number of foals due and had lost several of them. His dam, Mardi Gras, is our smallest mare and this was her first foal. I was anxiously awaiting the arrival of this one and had told my wife and our help that at the first sign of any problem to get her to the vet for a C-section because I wanted this foal alive! Around noon she laid down as I was starting to show horses to some visitors and she had a textbook delivery! Looking for a special name for him, it dawned on me that “the second” or Junior was the obvious choice. This stallion was tested and found to be homozygous.

His dam is, as I noted, one of our smallest mares and is one of our special “private collection” and he will be heading up part of that group later, hopefully. Mardi Gras is a daughter of our Orion son, Mr. It, and her dam is a favorite of everyone here.

He was quite a hit at the Texas State FFA Convention as a foal, too!

He joined our breeding stallions in 2008. Here he is meeting his mares and his neighbors April 30, 2008. Looks like he thinks he is the “big man on campus”; the palomino next door is only 32″.

miniature horse stallionsHere is one of his sons, Little America’s Fan Man, who matured at only 24.5″ tall and has already been a Supreme Halter Horse and multiple Top Ten at the World Shows since he was a foal.
